THEIR CONCERN IS GONNA BE AS IS MINE, THE HIGH DENSITY WE'RE, WE'RE TALKING, WE'RE LOOKING AT 750 APPROXIMATELY DWELLING UNITS, IF I HEARD IT CORRECT.
SO, UH, THE DENSITY IS DEFINITELY AN ISSUE AS FAR AS TRAFFIC AND, UH, NOT ONLY GOING DOWN AIR DEPOT TO THE SOUTH AND WHERE IT MEETS UP WITH COVE, THAT'S ALREADY HIGHLY LOADED RIGHT NOW WITH, UH, ALL THE DEVELOPMENT TO THE, UH, EAST.
BUT COFFEE CREEK HAS, UH, THAT STREET HAS ALSO INCREASED IN TRAFFIC FLOW CONSIDERABLY WITH THE ADDITIONS BACK TO THE EAST THERE WITHIN TWO MILES.
SO, UM, UH, RIDGE CREEK BEING ONE OF THEM.
UM, ALSO THE LOAD ON THE SCHOOLS, I'M CONCERNED ABOUT HOW THAT'S GONNA IMPACT THE SCHOOLS THAT ARE ALREADY EXISTING, CENTENNIAL AND SEQUOIA AND SO FORTH.
SO, UM, THAT'S, THAT'S PROBABLY THE MAJOR CONCERNS RIGHT NOW.

UH, THERE WERE 10 TO 12 ACCIDENTS, THE FATALITIES ON THAT PARTICULAR STRETCH OF I 35 AND EDMOND.
AND IT WAS A REAL CONCERN TO HIM.
HE SAID THEY HAD SOME PLANS AND SOME IDEAS ON HOW TO HELP PROVE IT, BUT THEY CAN'T DO EVERYTHING THAT THEY WANTED TO DO.
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO IS TO CHANGE EVERYTHING ON I 35 AND THE ACCESS ROADS

TO MAKE 'EM ONE WAY AND TO ADD TEXAS TURNAROUNDS AT ALL THE INTERSECTIONS WITHIN EDMOND SOUTH OF SECOND STREET.AND, UH, I'M SURE THE TRAFFIC SITUATION HADN'T GOTTEN BETTER.
I'M SURE THESE PEOPLE CAN CERTAINLY TESTIFY TO THAT, THAT LIVE IN THAT AREA.
UM, AND I THINK IT'S SOMETHING OF A SAFETY ISSUE THAT WE NEED TO BE WORKING AND TALKING TO THE, THE, THE STATE TURNPIKE TURNPIKE AUTHORITY.
ANOTHER THING, A REASON FOR US TO TALK TO THE TURNPIKE AUTHORITY IS THAT IF YOU TAKE A SECTION ROAD AND YOU GO ALL THE WAY FROM SECOND STREET SOUTH, GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH OKLAHOMA CITY, GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH MOORE, GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH NORMAN, UNTIL YOU HIT THE RIVER AT THE SOUTH END OF NORMAN, EVERY SECTION LINE ROAD HAS A BRIDGE AND AN EX EXIT.
EVERY ONE, UNLESS IT WAS TAKEN UP BY THE INTERSTATES.
AND THE, UH, THAT WE HAVE IN OUR COMMUNITY, THE LARGE ROAD ROADWAYS, WE HAVE THREE INTERSECTIONS IN EDMOND AND WATERLOO WHO HAS AN EXIT.
WE HAVE THREE THAT DO NOT, DANFORTH TECHNICALLY WAS NEVER IMPROVED TO BE A TURNPIKE AUTHORITY, UH, EXIT.
YOU HAVE COFFEE CREEK AND YOU HAVE SORGHUM MILL.
I DON'T KNOW WHY WE HAVEN'T DONE THOSE, BUT, UH, WE'VE BEEN SLOW TO GET OUR INTERSTATES BUILT.
UH, NOTHING HAS BEEN BUILT SINCE WE PUT IN SECOND STREET SOUTH ON I 35.
THAT WAS DONE IN 1984 IN THAT TIMEFRAME, UH, WE GOT THE INTERSECTION AT COVELL BECAUSE, UM, UH, THEN OUR MAYOR, RANDALL SHATTERED, UH, WENT DOWN TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE, SAID SOME REALLY NICE THINGS ABOUT DAVID WALTERS, AND WE GOT THE MONEY FOR THE EXIT ROAD AT COVEL.
THAT WAS JUST A WILD CHANCE LONG SHOT.
AND, UH, BUT THAT'S THE ONLY THING THAT'S BEEN ADDED TO OUR INTERSTATE.
AND AND YOU CAN SEE HOW IMPORTANT THAT ACTION, UH, HAS HAPPENED, UH, TO OUR COMMUNITY.
IT'S BEEN, UH, THE COVE PARKWAY EXTENSION, AND THAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO OUR COMMUNITY.
BUT WE HAVE THREE OTHERS THAT AREN'T FINISHED AND THEY SHOULD BE, AND SOMEDAY THEY WILL BE.
AND WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE NOT DOING SOMETHING TONIGHT WITH THIS PARTICULAR PROJECT THAT WOULD INTERFERE WITH OUR ABILITY TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN EVERY INTERSECTION GOING ALL THE WAY FROM SECOND STREET SOUTH TO THE RIVER SOUTH OF NORMAN.
AND I THINK THAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT FOR US TO THINK BECAUSE THINGS HAVE IMPACT AND DECISIONS HAVE IMPACT AND THEY IMPACT THINGS DOWN THE ROAD.

UH, IS THERE A ROAD ON THIS DESIGN THAT GETS YOU TO THE COMMERCIAL ON THE SOUTH END OF BY THE INTERSTATE SOUTHWEST IS THREE.
BUT, UH, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT AN ACCESS ROAD ON THIS, THIS PARTICULAR STRETCH BECAUSE IT IS PRETTY BIG CREEK THERE.

UM, MAYBE DOUG'S GOT A BETTER INSIGHT TO THIS AND, UH, MR. JONES HAS A BETTER INSIGHT TO, UH, THE RIGHTS OF WAY, ET CETERA, ET CETERA.
BUT, UH, IT, I CAN OVERLAY THE INTERSECTION AT SECOND AND I MEAN, AT COVELL AND THEIR EXIT, UH, WOULD COVER PART OF THAT AREA IN MY MIND NOW.

UM, ALSO THERE, THERE ARE ACCESS ROADS BECAUSE OF THE, THE CREEKS AND THE LAKES AND THE RIVERS AND THAT SORT OF THING WHERE YOU TAKE MORE OF A BRIDGE TO MAKE THAT ACCESS WORK.
BUT FOR THE MOST PART, 90% OF THE ROADS HAVE ACCESS ON BOTH SIDES WHEN YOU TAKE ALL THAT STRETCH.
AND, UM, I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT FOR US TO AT LEAST CONSIDER THAT IF NOT IMPORTANT ON THIS SIDE OF THE ROAD, MAYBE ON THE NEXT SIDE, BUT, UH, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD.
SO THESE THINGS ARE THINGS THAT I, I THOUGHT WERE VERY IMPORTANT.
